Fresh Goods for Sale

Fresh Goods for Sale presents exceptional pieces from two distinct bodies of artwork placed within a dynamic exhibition design created by Bakehouse artist Philip Lique.

The first trove of works is from a generous gift of 55 vintage and contemporary photographs from the esteemed collection of the Martin Z. Margulies Foundation. Partially presented in this gallery, the gifted works capture and reflect poignant portraits, scenes of regionalism, social realism, poverty, work conditions, visions of urban life, the vanishing rural landscape, and the everyday experience.

The second group comprises donations from the Bakehouse artist community. Made in a wide array of media, the artworks reflect just a small portion of the extraordinary output of the multicultural, multigenerational, and multidisciplinary practitioners that call Bakehouse their working home. Participating artists include Thomas Bils, Robert Chambers, GeoVanna Gonzalez, Adler Guerrier, Rhea Leonard, Najja Moon, Mateo Nava, William Osorio, Christina Pettersson, Michelle Lisa Polissaint, Nicole Salcedo, and Lauren Shapiro.
