Everyday I Take Steps

“Everyday I take steps” is a body of work pairing drawing and photography in an effort to reason with ideas of progress physically, emotionally and minutely. Through a series of portrait sessions, I prompt each sitter to respond to a drawing as a pose or notations for movement. The large scale installation for Vacheron Constantin included several LCD screens programmed to transition from drawing to photograph for viewers to see each sitter perform as they decipher. The motion rooting the work in ideas of time sensitivity. Whether folks read the marks as directions to rest or reflect, progressive change is acknowledged with their movement.
